Getting Started Fly Fishing

There’s so much to learn about fly fishing, it can be overwhelming. What follows is a very simple gear checklist for getting started.

• 5 WT Fly rod and reel combo pre-spooled with fly line (5WT will cover many species and situations)

• Leader and tippet to connect to your fly line to your fly

• A basic assortment of flies

Beyond the basics, some nice to haves include:

• Landing Net

• Sling Bag

• Waders

• Boots

• Polarized Glasses
